New York Earthquake
Despite what you may think, areas in and around the east coast are not immune to earthquakes. In in January of 2001, a 2.5 magnitude earthquake was reportedly felt from the tip of Manhattan to areas throughout New Jersey. Though the tremors came as a shock to the east coast, there was no reported damages or injuries from the quake. Geologists are still unsure about what caused the quake.
