A thermometer measures the outside temperature so people know how to dress accordingly.

PART 2 - Ozone Depletion
The ozone depletion process starts when CFCs and other chemicals are released into the air. The ozone layer protects plant and animal life. UVB radiation is harmful and has been liked to things such as skin cancer and cataracts. UVB can reach us without ozone depletion however with ozone depletion more UVB rays are able to harm us.
