Causes of Ozone Depletion
This engine coolant is harmful to the atmosphere. Although it is contained in your car and shouldn't generally be exposed, eventually it will when you crash your car, or it's sent to the junkyard or just plain erodes away. The coolant is then released as CFC's into the atmosphere. This is a particular concern because it means that CFC's will be released for hundreds of years to come as cars eventually break down.
