Meandering River

The Kanuti River meanders in the Alaskan Interior. The river forms large loops in its search for the path of least resistance. Eventually, these meanders will be cut off to form oxbow lakes as the river wears more.

  2. The oxbow lakes will eventually dry up since they do not collect water anymore because they are cut off. They will then be meander scars.
