Frontal Percipitation and a Cirrus Cloud

Frontal Percipitation results when a warm air mass meets a cold air mass. The warm air mass is forced up above the cold air mass. As the air rises, the temperature of the air cools and as a result, percipitaion occurs.
This is a Cirrus cloud. Cirrus clouds are characterized as being thin, wisplike strands. Cirrus clouds are formed when water vapor freezes into ice crystals.
