Hurricane Ida took place in the gulf of mexico. Its stop winds made it to 110kph. It is the ninth named hurricane of the year and has prompted a state of emergency in Louisiana when it moved into the southern gulf o mexico. People in mobile homes and low lying area were warned due to the projected rainfall of about 200mm. The threat of large and destructive waves is also apparent. However, the hurricane is now weakening into a tropical storm as it makes its way closer to the coast.
