Hurricane Jeanne
Jeanne formed as a tropical depression east-southeast of Gualdeloupe on the evening of September 13. Having strengthened to a tropical storm, Jeanne crossed Puerto Rico on September 15, and then moved toward the coast of Dominican Republic and Haiti, barely reaching hurricane strength before landfall. Final property damage in the United States was $6.8 billion, making this the 13th most costly hurricane in U.S. history.
