This is an aerial picture of the effect of bottom trawlers on the sea floor. The white lines are where the trawls have completely torn up the seabed, including all plant and animal life that originally resided there. All coral in the way would have been removed, which means loss of habitat for thousands of fish. The mismanagement comes in the form of governing bodies allowing this kind of destruction to continue. Often due to greed for money or inability to sufficiently patrol waters, governing bodies are severely lacking decent laws and ability to enforce protection of ocean life.
