Sea Stack

This is an image of a sea stack. Sea stacks are needle-shaped columns resulting from the collapse of an arch. Sea stacks are created by a process of erosion. The rocks are isolated from the land by sea. The pounding of waves along the rocks erodes the softer parts of the rock, leaving the harder rocks behind. A sea stack starts off as a headland along a coast and eventually, due to the erosion of rock. The sea wears a hole through the rock and eventually that hole erodes further until it seperates the rock from the land, creating a sea stack.
